企画・趣旨のねらい 秋山倫之（Tomoyuki Akiyama） 岡山大学小児神経科 福山哲広（Tetsuhiro Fukuyama） 信州大学医学部新生児学・療育学講座 　近年，小児てんかん診療は診断・治療技術の両面で大きな進歩がみられており，てんかん診療を行う上で臨床医が学ぶべき情報量が急速に増加している．MRIを中心とした画像診断の進歩は限局性皮質異形成をはじめとする脳の構造異常によるてんかんの診断精度を高め，外科手術適応症例を増加させている．遺伝子解析，代謝異常検査，免疫学的検査の進歩は疾患病態の解明に直接的に結びつき，原因を踏まえた特異的な治療を可能にしてきている．また，多くの抗てんかん薬が使用できるようになったことにより，治りやすいとされる特発性てんかんにおいても，長期的な副作用を考慮した治療選択が求められるようになっている．本シンポジウムは，原因診断を踏まえたてんかん診療の現状について分かりやすく解説することで，より多くのてんかん患者に最新医療の恩恵をもたらすことができる機会としたい．
