[IJ2-02]Pinch-off of viscous liquid ligament

Recently, we have developed a new method for ejecting viscous liquid jets (~10,000 cP) with a wide range of volumes (O(nl)~ O(ml)). Our method can be applied to various printing devices such as 3D printers and printed electronics. The ejected liquid pinches off and forms a droplet. This pinch-off process of the jet is important for controlling the deposited liquid volume. In this study, we investigate the pinch-off process of the jet with varying the jet size and the viscosity. Furthermore, we discuss the universality of the pinch-off process of the liquid ejected by our system with using non-dimensional numbers.
