In recent years, rhenium disulfide (ReS2), a two-dimensional semiconductor, has attracted significant attention due to its unique anisotropic properties that are not commonly found in other two-dimensional materials. We confirmed the relation between the Re-chains, which serve as the standard for the anisotropic properties of ReS2, and the director of nematic liquid crystals. We controlled ReS2 flakes by manipulating the director.
