We measured the distance between objects using only
one monocular camera by deploying a liquid crystal (LC)
panel. We utilized a stereo-matching method between two
stereo images acquired by one monocular camera. The
average of the estimated distance had good linearity with
the actual distances, and the coefficient of variation was
less than 2.1% (within 25 m).
