In this lecture, we wish to present our explored results for synthesis of a series of niobium(V)-alkylidene complexes and their use as olefin metathesis polymerization catalysts. In particular, living polymerization of internal alkynes has beend demonstrated for the first time by using V(CHSiMe3)(NAr)[OC(CF3)3](PMe3)2 even at 80 C. More results for synthesis of a series of alkylidene complexes and the catalytic ring-opening metathesis polymerization of cyclic olefins will be introduced in the symposium.
