[1B10]Synthesis of organic-inorganic hybrid layered silicate having unique interlayer properties

A novel organic-inorganic hybrid layered aluminosilicate material KCS-11 was successfully synthesized. KCS-11 can selectively introduce amphiphilic molecules such as alcohols into its interlayer. The interlayer of KCS-11 has so strong affinity to alcohol molecules that KCS-11 can extract ethanol even from 10 wt% aqueous ethanol.
