[1C14]Catalytic dehydrogenations of ethane and propane in which activity improves with carbon deposition

In a normal catalytic dehydrogenation, the catalytic activity is significantly reduced over time-on-stream due to carbon deposition formed during the reaction. In the present presentation, it was founf that, when a dehydrogenations of ethane and propane were carried out using a nickel oxide catalyst supported on γ-alumina, the dehydrogenation activity was significantly improved with time-on-stream at a specific loading of nickel oxide. We will report the results of detailed analysis of carbon deposition, nickel dispersion, etc., which are the active factors.
