Ammonia methanation that synthesizes methane by reducing carbon dioxide with ammonia using a hybrid catalyst that combines a Ru-based ammonia decomposition catalyst and a Sabatier reaction catalyst. It was found that the ammonia decomposition activity of Ru-based catalysts varies greatly depending on the type of carrier alumina. It was also found that the activity was increased by increasing the amount of Ru supported, but the effect was limited. The results of ammonia methanation combined with hybrid catalysts will be presented.
