We have succeeded in synthesizing novel organic-inorganic hybrid layered silicates adsorbing only amphiphilic molecules into the interlayers. These materials adsorb only ethanol molecules into the interlayers from dilute ethanol such as 10% aqueous solution, and the adsorbed ethanol molecules are easily desorbed under atmospheric conditions. By using such unique adsorption properties, these materials are expected to be applicable to bioethanol condensation.
