Lowering the viscosity of trans-axle oil leads to a significant reduction in the loss of the electric vehicle unit. However, reduction of viscosity causes durability problem such as wear and seizure because it is difficult to ensure oil film thickness on metal surface. We developed new trans-axle oil which is 50% lower viscosity and superior durability than conventional ATF by reviewing the additives in the oil. It was possible to improve the fuel consumption of 5th generation THS by 1.0% or more in the mode driving ,and contributing to the achievement of carbon-neutral.
