New method for intercalation and ion substitution was demonstrated by using a corona discharge. Metastable materials, which cannot be synthesized by conventional solid state reaction, were obtained by this method. It is also different from the conventional ion irradiation. Actually, there is no structural damage to a host material in order to use its ion diffusion mechanism. We will present various examples of the materials obtained by this method in this conference.
