A transmission polarizing microscope employing a portable microscope that costs less than 2000 JPY and a smart phone was constructed. Crystal growth processes of vanillin and other organic materials were observed and the still images of the crystallization and the time-lapse videos of the crystallization processes were taken using the microscope.
