We have developed a novel method for measuring the work function using a hollow-cathode lamp. We report the threshold wavelength of Potassium atoms. It is measured to be 614±69 nm, which is larger than that of measured previously (542 nm). In our presentation we will describe the reasons for the difference and the reproducibility of the measured work functions.
