An adhesive silicone rubber sheet was used to create planar fluidic devices. A polymer sheet, on which a wiring pattern was drawn with silver, was adhered to another sheet by using a silicone sheet of 35 μm thickness. A cholesteric liquid crystal was enclosed in a cavity that had been machined in the silicone sheet before the adhesion. The scattering in the liquid crystal realized a flexible pixel array that needed no polarizers. A cutting machine was used to create a pattern of channels and through-holes in the silicone sheet. The machined sheet was piled to construct 3-D fluidic channels, in which water and oil flew alternately.
