This paper presents the comparison of cross-sectional forces between Japanese conventional method (mainly applied in Japan) and Muir Wood-Curtis Solution (mainly applied in Europe) and their suitability to be applied under different ground conditions, groundwater level, depths and tunnel sizes are discussed.
