In the last 5 decades aqueducts have attracted the attention of the water transportation industry manufacturing business. During the lifetime of the aqueduct bridges the performance of the main bridge faces degradation and in case of failure causes high bending stresses and local damage near the air valve. Since the pipe wall is thin, the calculation of critical stresses is difficult. This study considered the repair method of the air valve on the aqueduct bridge and its effect by FEA, referring to the accident at the Musota aqueduct bridge.
