1981年 東京大学大学院理学系研究科博士課程修了．理学博士の学位取得．東京芝浦電気株式会社入社．総合研究所配属．国産初の人体用MRIの開発に従事
1986年 筑波大学物理工学系講師着任
1994年 同助教授昇任
2000年 同教授昇任
2018年 同定年退職．株式会社エムアールアイシミュレーションズ代表取締役就任現在に至る．
2010年 第38回日本磁気共鳴医学会大会大会長
2014年～2016年 第14代日本磁気共鳴医学会会長
