As the urban population continues to grow, opportunities for urban dwellers to gain the experiential value of becoming producers are diminishing. Our research focused on the study of agriculture in higher education and involved an experiment in the cultivation of lettuce using an urban agriculture unit. The high school students practiced creating an optimal environment for growing lettuce using drip irrigation, hydroponics, and aquaponics. It was observed that high school students deepen their learning through multiple learning processes of "sense, interest, recognize, explore, acquire, and express" to understand agriculture.
