Recently, cross-modal correspondences between sound and shape have been drawing attention for its application to music visualization, which is said to improve the musical experience by visualizing music. This study focuses on the “complexity” and “order” of shapes, and aims to examine the cross-modal correspondences between sound pitch and these shape features. As a result, the correspondence between “complexity” of shape and higher pitches, and the “order” of shape and lower pitches were found in most shapes by using the quantitative indices of shape features.
