A variety of innovative technologies are available in the fields of molecular biology and genomics, enabling studies of non-model organisms, including those with mysterious forms, interesting ecologies or unique functions. Elucidating the origins of these characteristics at the molecular level is extremely useful for understanding the mechanisms of their environmental adaptation, evolution and trait acquisition. This symposium introduces the frontier of the molecular biology of these organisms.
