Extracellular fluid dynamics regulates spatiotemporal distribution of secreted proteins in<em> Xenopus </em>embryos

Morphogenesis is the process by which patterns and structures are formed in organisms’ body. During the last three-four decades, genetic studies using model organisms have revealed an outline of “the molecular basis of morphogenesis”. In addition, recent technological innovation in live-imaging and omics analyses and advanced multidisciplinary approach is accelerating detailed elucidation of the molecular basis, and also unraveling “the new mechanical and metabolic bases of morphogenesis”, such as intercellular friction force and glycolytic activity gradient. In this symposium, we will focus on New Principles of Morphogenesis, unraveled by recent innovative approach.
