Species Recognition in Fertilization and Its Manipulation

Eukaryotes are thought to originate from a common ancestral cell. In this view point, plants are expected to provide unique opportunities to find novel and general abilities of eukaryotic cells. This symposium will focus on exciting, cutting-edge biology that is led by plat models. Topics will include systemic and inheritable epigenetic-DNA-modifications, overcoming reproductive barriers by key-molecule manipulation, adoptive evolution in allopolyploid new species, molecular mechanism of gravitropism sensing and response, and evolution of the novel complex traits in carnivorous plants.
