In vivo reprogramming drives Kras-induced cancer development

Once cells differentiate, it has been considered to be difficult to redirect the cells to other lineages. However, the establishment of induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs) with introduction of only a minimum set of genes revealed that reprograming of cells per se is not such a big hurdle. Since then, strategies to directly reprogram somatic cells into desirable ones in different lineages have been investigated extensively. In this symposium, we would like to introduce methods and application of 5 representative artificially generated cells, i.e., induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, induced hepatocyte-like cells (iHep) cells, induced neuron-like (iN) cells, induced cardiomyocyte-like (iCM) cells, and induced renal epithetical tubule cells (iRECs).
