Controlling the positioning of new neurons for functional regeneration in the post-stroke brain

Neural cells that regulate higher order of biological functions are generated from common neural stem cells (NSCs), and even in the adult brain, they exist and keep producing neurons. In this symposium, we are going to discuss mechanisms of how NSCs are maintained, change their property, differentiate into neurons throughout their life. Furthermore, since the replenishment of neurons is critical to restore the lost neural function when injured, we also would like to discuss with you methods to artificially regulate differentiation and migration of NSCs and their progeny.
