Toward understanding roles of yeast TOR complexes by structure-based rational engineering approach

TOR kinase forms two independent complexes, TOR complex 1 (TORC1) and TOR complex 2 (TORC2), which sense and integrate growth-related signals such as nutrients, growth factors, and stress, and regulate cell metabolism. Therefore, TOR is not only involved in the regulation of a wide range of physiological functions, but also its dysfunction is the basis of various pathological phenomena. In this symposium, we would like to share the latest research results and future prospects, ranging from attempts to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms and physiological functions of TOR using various model organisms to protein design of TOR and clinical applications of the TOR inhibitor rapamycin.<br>
