Practice and usefulness of muscule ultrasound in diagnosis of ALS in early stage

筋萎縮性側索硬化症（ALS）の分子病態が解明され、その根本的治療に向けて様々な治験が進められている。しかし、現在、本症の診断基準では、複数の領域に病気が進行し、始めてその診断が可能で有る。つまり進行期でしか確定診断が出来ない。有効な治療法があれば、早期に介入するほど有効であることは疑う余地もない。このため、早期での確定診断は、大きな課題となっている。さらに、ALSの臨床症状の進行形式は多様であり、これも、治験の障壁となる。それでは、私たちは、どれだけ早期に確実にALSを診断し、その進行を予測することができるのであろうか。このシンポジウムでは、電気生理、バイオマーカー、イメージングの観点から、ALSの早期診断、そして進行の定量的評価に向けた展望を議論し、新世紀のALS研究への橋渡しとすることを目標とする。
