[P3-4]Family doctors and depression: the Japanese Train-the-Trainers Programme

Jill Benson(General Practice, ModMed Institute for International Health Education and University of Adelaide, Australia)

Jill has been a GP for over 35 years and currently works as a Medical Educator for ModMed and GPEx in Adelaide, South Australia, and in the clinic at Doctors Health SA. For the last 10 years she was the Medical Director of the KWHA, an alliance of health services in remote Aboriginal communities in the western desert, and for 15 years seeing refugees at the Migrant Health Service in Adelaide. She helped establish mental health training in Vanuatu and has worked and taught in remote eastern Nepal and in Fukushima in Japan. She has presented and published nationally and internationally about medical education, refugee health and mental health. In 2012 she was awarded an Order of Australia for her OPrk with refugees, Aboriginal people and in mental health. She completed her PhD in 2017 on the health of refugees in Australia.
