地層処分後の燃料被覆管の腐食挙動を評価するため，処分環境を模擬した溶液中でジルコニウム合金の腐食によって生成する水素量を水素ガスおよび吸収量あわせて測定した．生成水素量は時間とともに放物線則で減少し，腐食速度に換算すると，処分の安全評価で使われている腐食速度である2×10-2 μm/yよりも十分小さいことが分かった．
