[2A17]Analysis of thermal neutron scattering cross-sections of hydrogenous materials for searching novel cold moderators in a small neutron source

For searching novel cold moderators, dozens of neutron scattering cross-sections for hydrogenous materials are analyzed by the general-purpose code for thermal neutron scattering cross-sections developed in our group. As a result, molecules having 1-propynyl groups are found to be promising cold moderators due to librational modes of methyl groups with an energy of several meV.
