The three-dimensional object shape imaging method using air-coupled ultrasonic sensing is proposed to obtain clear status of fuel debris in Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Two fundamental experiments: radiation resistance test of air-coupled ultrasonic sensor and the object shape imaging with the sensor, showed high-radiation resistance of the sensor and utility of the imaging method.
