ImPACT Fujita program

The ImPACT Fujita progrm"Reduction and Resource Recycling of High-level Radioactive Waste through Nuclear Transmutation" aims at providing a new option to resolve the problem of high level radioactive wastes produced during reprosessing of spent fuel from nuclear power plants.The problem is an importnt social issue to reduce a burden on the next generation. The research program have obtainbed a possibility of effective nuclear transmutation method to achieve the goal by employing an even-odd mass separation by laser system and a particle accelarator with a tunable energy. The research results of the ImPACT Fujita program is introduced and an exchange of opinions with the attendees is expected in the exhibition.
