For the treatment and disposal of contaminated water treatment secondary wastes generated at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, low-temperature solidification treatment using cement and alkali-active materials is being considered. However, the effects of radiation on chemical admixtures need to be investigated. In this study, γ-ray irradiation tests were conducted on chemical admixtures and cement solidified products containing chemical admixtures to investigate the amount of hydrogen generation.
