Mechanical properties of fuel debris have been investigated using simulated debris for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Ppower Plant. Microscopic pores in the simulated B2O3-UO2 debris, which is a control rod/nuclear fuel mixture, have a significant influence on the mechanical properties. In this study, Multi-Phase Field method in the B2O3-UO2 system was developed to predict the pore generation.
