Investigations on functional coatings to mitigate tritium permeation in fusion reactor blankets have progressed and shown a high hydrogen isotope permeation reduction performance and compatibility with tritium breeders using ceramics. On the other hand, the degradation of the coating is expected during a long-term operation in the blanket by thermal cycles, irradiation damage, and corrosion, and the degraded components will be repaired or replaced. Nonetheless, no study on repair technology for damaged coatings has been reported. In this presentation, we present a repair method for damaged coatings by recoating.
