As the spent fuel cooling period before reprocessing becomes longer, radioactive inventory and heat generation rate change, which affects the engineered barrier temperature and safety (the guideline values are fully satisfied). We investigated methods such as separating minor actinide nuclides as a mitigation measure for these affects and confirmed their effectiveness.
