Fuel debris samples were retrieved from Unit 2 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station through two trial retrieval campaigns (the first in November 2024 and the second in April 2025). Those samples were subjected to a variety of analyses at JAEA facilities. The primary objective is to improve the understanding of accident progression and thereby to clarify conditions inside the PCV and RPV. This presentation briefly summarizes the findings derived from the sample analyses so far, focusing on the conditions at the sampling locations and the formation processes of the fuel debris.
