To assess hydrogen generation from fuel debris, it is necessary to estimate the fraction of radiation energy emitted from the debris that is absorbed by water (energy absorption fraction). In this study, the energy absorption fraction was estimated using PHITS based on solution analysis results of samples obtained the first trial retrieval.
