A simplified conceptual model focusing on heat transport, groundwater flow, and chemical reactions was developed using PFLOTRAN for coupled THC (Thermal–Hydrological–Chemical) analysis of the near-field environment in high-level radioactive waste (HLW) geological disposal. Preliminary simulations were conducted to confirm the feasibility of the coupled calculations and to establish a basis for future code-to-code comparison studies.
