In the advanced PEM for geological disposal published in January 2025, a perforated steel handling shell (11% perforation rate) was introduced to ensure uniform groundwater infiltration into the handling shell after emplacement. This report presents a single-hole element test that compared various perforating techniques to obtain information contributing to the application conditions for the steel handling shell. The test results were organized from the perspectives of logistics, product quality, and economic rationality.
