A series of hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (DESs) composed of decanoic acid and various hydrogen-bond acceptors were prepared to investigate the influence of DES composition on platinum group metal (PGM) extraction. The extraction behavior of Pd(II), Rh(III), and Ru species from nitric acid media will be evaluated through systematic liquid–liquid extraction experiments. Variations in the hydrogen-bond acceptor structure are expected to significantly affect metal–ligand interactions and extraction performance. The results will clarify the influence of DES composition on PGM extraction and help identify promising DES systems for metal recovery.
