Solidification technology is needed to stabilize the fuel debris and contaminated water present within the primary containment vessel (PCV) at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. This study compared the specifications of different commercially available metakaolins, and fresh- and cured-properties of metakaoline-based geopolymers. It also evaluated the specifications of domestically produced metakaolins, considering a supply risk of mineral resource.
