Under the “Project for Nuclear Energy Science & Technology and Human Resource Development,” adopted in FY2023, we are conducting studies on rational approaches for the treatment and disposal of radioactive concrete waste expected to be generated in substantial quantities during the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Prior to presenting a series of research outcomes focusing on the on-site measures for volume and weight reduction, this presentation outlines the overall research project.
