Normally, kW-class fiber laser decontamination machines are cooled by a water-cooled chiller and consist of multiple large, heavy components. In order to easily use a high-performance kW-class decontamination machine, we have manufactured an integrated, lightweight, compact, air-cooled single-mode fiber laser decontamination machine. We have applied it to nuclear reactor decommissioning and general industry. We report on the manufacturing and application.
