The characteristics of an ultra-high dose-rate irradiation field at the electron linear accelerator of KURNS were evaluated with the objective of establishing irradiation conditions under which the FLASH effect—expected to reduce normal tissue toxicity while maintaining tumor control efficacy—can be induced.
