リポソームは、内部に特定の生体分子を封入することで、遺伝子発現などの生化学反応を模倣する人工細胞として利用できる。特に、直径数mmの超巨大リポソーム（SGUV）は、サイズ・量を厳密に制御できることや観察が容易といった利点があるが、従来の調製条件では生化学反応（特に遺伝子発現）が阻害される。そこで本研究では、SGUV調製法を改良することで、高効率な遺伝子発現能を有する超巨大人工細胞の作製を試みた。
