紅色光合成細菌Thermochromatium tepidumのLH2タンパク質はB800 BChl aのQ_y吸収帯には2種類のスペクトル成分が存在するが、そのメカニズムは未解明である。そこで本研究では、Thermochromatium tepidumのLH2タンパク質に結合するB800 BChl aの結合状態に関する情報を得ることを目的とし、LH2タンパク質に結合した状態のB800 BChl aを酸化することによる、色素とタンパク質への影響を調べた。
