紅色光合成細菌の光捕集タンパク質 LH2 の B800 バクテリオクロロフィル a は、3 位アセチル基とβ-Arg20が水素結合形成することで電子状態が制御されている。本研究では、LH2 タンパク質のB800 部位にホルミル基を有する酸素発生型光合成生物のクロロフィル色素を再構成することで、Chl色素のホルミル基とタンパク質間の相互作用と吸収帯への影響を明らかにすることを目的とした。
