紅色光合成細菌Thermochromatium tepidumのLH2タンパク質では、B800 BChl aのQ_y吸収帯に2種類のスペクトル成分が存在することや、B850 BChl aのQ_y吸収帯が外部要因で変化するなど興味深い特徴を有する。このようなTch. tepidumのLH2タンパク質の特徴の要因に関する知見を得るため、化学酸化と光酸化によるLH2タンパク質のBChl aのスペクトル変化を調べた。
