近年、工業廃液や廃電子部品から貴金属を回収することが重要となっている。当研究室ではHAuCl₄とH₂PtCl₆の希薄混合溶液中で、金イオンを選択的に還元回収するペプチドが合成された。しかし、ペプチド合成は高コストであるというデメリットから、本研究では産業応用を志向してペプチドの構造を基に非ペプチド性の芳香族化合物を設計・化学合成した。
