かつてのパターン認識は、顔認識や文字認識といった特定の分野に応用範囲が限られていました。しかしながら、飛躍的な発展を遂げた機械学習の恩恵により、パターン認識・メディア理解（PRMU）技術の応用先分野は、かつてよりも格段に広がりつつあります。そこで本セッションでは、「パターン認識・メディア理解（PRMU）のための基盤モデルと学習」をテーマとし、PRMU 技術を支える新しい技術開発と応用についてのシンポジウムセッションを企画いたしました。本セッションでは、PRMU 分野の第一線で活躍している技術者・研究者を招き、基盤モデル開発と学習の応用事例について、ご紹介頂きます。
